One overcast day to Haast on west coast

After breakfast near Lake Hawea, we headed west with several water falls (including Thunder Creek waterfalls) stops towards the rain-swept West Coast needed at Haast.
Haast is a small collection of communities, Haast Junction, Haast township and Haast Beach, on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island. It is located on the edge of Mount Aspiring National Park, part of the UNESCO's Southwest New Zealand World Heritage Area covering over 2500 square kilometres of one of the World's most diverse and spectacular landscapes of significant natural value.

I got three bites by sand flies which lasted a few days. Hard to take photos on an overcast day.

  1. What a nice spot, sorry about the bug bites. Try a poultice of baking soda paste.
